Collab.Land launches DAO as part of the next phase of its development

Collab.Land, a popular token-gating tool used by DAO and NFT communities, is set to launch its own decentralized autonomous organization and governance token – COLLAB. The move marks the next phase of the company’s development, and more than 2 million users across communities that use the tool will receive an airdrop of the tokens. The COLLAB token will be used primarily for governance within the DAO.

Decentraland DAO continues its search for a new committee member

Days after some whales blocked the community’s move to elect a new committee member, Decentraland DAO is back scouting for someone to fill the position. With one slot still open, the DAO has begun a poll, the first of three stages, to confirm and appoint a new member to join the committee. The five candidates from the previous event were been shortlisted for the pool.

DeFi DAOs continue to lead in the number of DAO votes in February

Research conducted by the DAO-centric data analytics site, DeepDAO, predicts that DeFi DAOs will see at least 170,000 governance votes in February. Although the estimated figure is about 4,000 shy from the previous month, DeFi DAOs will continue to dominate the scenes, having the highest number of decentralized organizations in the category.

Decentraland DAO to introduce a third option for draft and governance proposals

The DAO is currently voting on a binding governance proposal that seeks to add a third choice for draft and governance proposals. Instead of the current “yes” and “no” options, the proposal will introduce a third vote: abstention. The proposal, which has already passed the pre-proposal and draft proposal stages, will stay open until February 28 and must pass a voting threshold of 6 million.

  • Over the past week, GORJS DAO voted on three Snapshot proposals. While two of the proposals were more of a gauge of the community’s interest in staking and high-value collabs, one saw members vote on how the DAO should engage with those who did not hold any FKWME passes.
  • Decentraland DAO is currently voting on a proposal to add a new wearable category – hands. As of press time, the community was heavily leaning towards approving the initiative.
