MoonDAO teams up with Space for a Better World on Zero-G flight experience

MoonDAO has continued to claw its way towards its grand mission of creating a self-sustaining, self-governing settlement on the moon by 2030. Holders may be years away from landing on the moon but this does not stop a zero-gravity experience here on earth.

On Monday, the DAO announced that it had secured 22 spots for a zero-gravity experience with legendary Nasa astronauts Doug Hurley and Nicole Stott.

The June 9th Houston experience is being powered by the privately held space entertainment and tourism company, Zero-G, in collaboration with “Space for a Better World” and MoonDAO. Participants will have the opportunity to experience true weightlessness in a specially modified Boeing 727 G-FORCE ONE aircraft. The pilots will perform aerobatic maneuvers called parabolas that will create a weightless environment that mimics that of space. In general, the experience includes a parabolic flight with 15 parabolas, a pre-flight meal, a flight suit, and Zero-G merchandise.

The unique experience comes with a whopping price tag of $15,000 per person. However, there are some discounts for members of the DAO. vMOONEY holders will be able to unlock a special code that provides a $2,500 discount. Furthermore, vMOONEY holders can enter a raffle for a free chance to win a seat, with each entrant receiving a special MoonDAO ZeroG NFT. Meanwhile, MoonDAO will select one member to join the Zero Gravity experience for free.

Founded in November 2021, MoonDAO is united by its mission of decentralizing access to space research and exploration. The DAO kicked off its operations with an initial fundraising goal of $450,000 on Juicebox.
