Boba Network seeks to deploy Uniswap v3 on its hybrid compute platform

Boba Network alongside Franklin DAO has submitted a proposal to deploy Uniswap v3 on Boba Network. Voting is currently ongoing on Snapshot, and as of press time, approximately 100% of the votes were in support of the idea.

Boba Network is a Layer-2 Optimistic Rollup scaling solution and hybrid compute platform that enables faster transactions and lower fees on the Ethereum network. Its hybrid compute taps on web2 to enhance the capabilities of smart contracts by leveraging off-chain compute and real-world data.

As per the proposal, deploying Uniswap v3 on Boba will fuel Uniswap’s multichain expansion by adding users from the Boba ecosystem. Other benefits of the integration include low-cost transactions and a bridge for moving assets between Ethereum and the Boba network.

We believe there are many benefits for the Uniswap Protocol, some of which include: Ethereum equivalence. Developer tools, resources, projects, and protocols supported by Ethereum are already supported on Boba Network.

Meanwhile, Boba plans on incentivizing users to adopt Uniswap v3. The platform has earmarked $1M $BOBA tokens to promote the building of new applications on top of Uniswap v3, as well as activities that incentivize liquidity. Furthermore, Boba has contributed over $4 million of liquidity on Uniswap v3 to bootstrap the initial success of v3 on its platform.

If approved, the deployment will take between three and four weeks, with the Boba Network team spearheading the process.

Over at the Uniswap forum, several community members welcomed the idea. However, Kydo from Stanford Blockchain Club kicked against the deployment of Uniswap on new chains because “the efforts needed to integrate and maintain [the] front end for the team are too high.” They also believe new integrations will lead to Uniswap’s “brand dilution.”
